    Hi,

So I haven’t gotten back any results yet but I am thinking I will need to retake AUD some time. Do firms care? I already have a full time secured with a regional firm in the Midwest. My cousin who is a recruiter for over 20 years keep telling me to study harder which I am trying my best but it is so boring and I am sure everyone on here understands. She keeps telling me firms will know how many times I have taken the CPA but I keep thinking how would they know if I don’t say. She keeps on saying the firm could rescind your offer if you don’t pass the CPA in a year or why would I want to go to a CPA who took the exam 7x just like a doctor. Would I pay to go see someone who took the board exam 3x. I understand she is trying to help motivate me and all but this is adding more stress than already is. I recall reading my offer letter that I have 3 years but I hope to pass all before starting work in August or at least 2 or 3 sections. For those who have taken the exam more than once and are working, did your firm say anything or did it hinder your job performance?

Frankly, she sounds like a witch. Tell her to get lost. Either that, or send her a link to the AICPA practice exam and tell her to have at it.

I'm just wondering if your cousin knows how many times you have taken it. Don't tell her anything, just disappear, work on your exams and when you are done ask her if she can tell you how many times you had to take it to pass. If she can't tell, the firms can't either. There is no way for anyone to find it out – that's the only thing I love about this exam.

I would have said (to her) what Harvey Specter said one time, “Would you like me to thank your face with my fist?”

LOL @coffee. Sadly, she calls my mom and ask her about whether I am studying or not and she even calls me every now and then. I get the whole point, she wants me to succeed. I truly believe if people cared about you they will nag at you and want to help you to be successful which is what she is trying to do. Pushing me harder and pass on first try..she worried because after I graduated last semester I took a week off to NYC rather than jumping into the material. Back on track now!

No one will ever ask you how many times you took it or what your score was. They will only care if you passed. You will be doing the same job as everyone else that has taken the exam. You just might not be as good as taking exams as others are.

    AUD - 82
    REG - 78
    BEC - 78
    FAR - 76
