I’m studying with becker review and was thinking about purchasing Ninja MCQ. My current strategy is go through the Becker review, lectures, take notes, then do the homework once and go back and answer any I got wrong. Once I finish the Becker review I was planning on just hammering out MCQ non stop for the last 2 weeks.

    Any Thoughts/ suggestions ?? — Thanks

Maybe add Ninja MCQ in there. Thats the approach I am taking for FAR. Btw Jonny did you end up passing AUD? I need to retake that. will add Ninja for that too. Good luck with BEC.

Sounds similar to my experience. I think Becker Chapters 1,2,3, and 5 (Economics) are very good. This is what I did to help me understand all the crap in BEC.

If you go through my previous posts I go over a little more of what I did.

In my opinion if you have the time and want to for sure pass the first time you have to put in work.

I first viewed the lectures and took notes. I would do the MCQ after viewing the lectures, taking notes, and reading the book.

Chapters 1,2,3 will take the most time do not feel discouraged, Becker does this on purpose and spend a lot of time on those 3 chapters. They are hell but they are really valuable.

After going through all the lectures and MCQ, I would suggest going through the Book once more without the lectures, re-take all your notes, and doing the MCQ again. This part of my review took the longest but was the most beneficial.

Once I did that I went through the WTB once

After that I spent 2 weeks on Ninja MCQ which is by far the best tool to use before the exam. I hit the review stage and was trending around 97%.

It took me a long time but I over prepared since it was my last exam and if I failed I would lose my FAR credit. I ended up feeling pretty confident during the exam, and left with 45 min remaining.

If you want more detail feel free to go over my previous posts

    FAR 81

@stgeorge… did you re-write all your notes before you jumped to ninja mcq? I did that for auditing and it took forever but if you think it helped you I might do it. Thnks

@Spartans… no I failed with a 73.. strong on multiple choice, weak on sims just like I predicted… SUCKS, hbu?

I know seeing my score was the worst, I'm taking BEC April 2 then ill probably schedule audit for 2 weeks after. If I don't pass this time I'm leaving it for last. Auditing is just the worst I guess I just don't understand it. I graduated college with a 3.5 gpa and was an accounting tutor and couldn't pass my first section.. feel like such a loser.

I am studying with Gleim. I'm not sure how in depth the COSO stuff is compared to the exam. How detailed is detailed, in terms of knowing COSO stuff.

I graduated with similar GPA but wasn't a tutor and I took Audit last semester and got 3.5 in the class and the professor claims everyone passes the exam that takes it with her and she suggest taking it right after the end of the class so I decided to tackle it first and hoping for a confidence boost. That didn't go as planned but I know the SIMS were my main issues which was very FAR based so I decided to tackle FAR next instead. I don't think you should feel negative. This exam isn't about intelligence as some says, it is like a marathon all about the time and effort you put in. I am sure you will pass the 2nd time around considering how close you were the first time.

As of now I have everything scheduled (FAR in April, REG in May, and BEC in July). So I would say AUD would be in August but I don't think that is a good approach. I don't want to forget the FAR material and end up bombing the SIMS again so I might do AUD in May instead. What would you do if you were me? My NTS for the other 3 (FAR,REG,BEC) expires in August and I need to reapply for Audit.

I would take it sooner rather than later just because audit is a lot of concepts and memorization and the longer you wait the more materials you'll forget. My plan is just to hammer MCQ on audit and review for a few short weeks between exams and see how I do, if I don't pass then ill wait and take it at the end and start studying like its day 1 audit… I'm going through BEC right now and it seems like cake compared to auditing but who really knows I'm just starting chapter 3.

I see. Yea I heard BEC is one of the easier section. Are you working or will be starting in the fall? Im not sure if financial is your strength but may want to knock out FAR ASAP too. The 18 month will go quick especially if you work then there's limited time to study and preparing for the worst (retakes). I just started FAR few weeks ago too and boy this section is daunting. Best of Luck!

I'm working full time so its work, study, sleep everyday. I decided to take BEC because I wanted to get one under my belt and BEC is probably the shortest section lol. FAR will be a beast I'm sure but a lot of people pass on their first time. I feel like more people fail audit than anything.

I always heard BEC was the easiest also… that feeling went away when I started studying the IT section. Don't under estimate BEC.
