DO NOT wait for Congratulatory Letter to apply for license

Jeff has said this repeatedly but I’d like to emphasize it. I was issued a Georgia CPA license number yesterday and I still haven’t received my congratulatory letter. Download the application forms as soon as you find out you’ve passed your last exam and submit them. I’m certain I saved myself at least a month of waiting on NASBA and my State Board to send the docs.

Saves a ton of time if you don't want to wait on the letter to arrive. In the grand scheme of things, a few weeks wait time doesn't matter, but most of us want those letters as soon as possible.

I think like everything else it's state specific. I remember giving someone that same advice and they had to send the letter too or something like that. Congrats on your license!

I believe a licenses number is better than a congrats letter….you won't know until you apply. And congrats on such a great accomplishment. Definitely on my wish list this year….

    It begins with a 75

I agree that this is likely state specific.

In my state: I received my congratulatory packet within a few days of score release. Applications are only reviewed once a month, so I'm the grand scheme of things, sending the application in a few days early gets you nowhere.
