Hi!

I know this has been discussed here a few times, but here we go again.

I took BEC today and was reviewing my essay sims up to the last 5 seconds. When I went to click “submit” the box that says “review” or “submit test-let” popped up and while choosing “submit” button the time expired. I still got the survey at the end.

My question is: did my essays save and submit (specifically the 3rd one)?

I called NASBA, they said no it won’t save that last one. This didn’t make sense to me because let’s say you run out of time and don’t finish a sim while time expires – I would imagine that you get credit for your work up to that point without hitting the “submit” button.

I called the AICPA and they said everything auto saves as time expires.

Anyone else experience this and know for sure that their responses were received & graded?

I sure hope they auto save… I was also reviewing essays up until the last second and didn't even consider the fact that they wouldn't be received and graded. I don't recall clicking submit, but a message did pop up when the time ran out saying all responses were recorded.

I think I may still have maybe submitted it then because I didn't get that message.

I know I ran out of time on AUD and went to click submit with a second left, but I don't believe I made it on time and fretted about it on the drive home. But I believe the SIMS were still graded, in that instance.

Thinking about the warning they give us about not letting the instruction time run out at the beginning of the test, I feel like they'd do the same and warn us not to let the time run out on a testlet if it wouldn't be submitted.

I have ran out out of time before a couple times and did not hit “submit” Everything was sent ok to whoever grades these exams.

I suggest you take a couple XANAX. Calling the AICPA?!?
