    Any users of CPAExcel think that it is sufficient as a stand-alone study program? How does it prepare for the new exam format?

    BEC (2/28/16) ----- 78
    FAR (09/10/16)-----
    AUD
    REG

    CIA, CGAP, CFE

    CPAExcel with the Wiley Test Bank? Or just CPAExcel?

    I think it comes down to how you learn best. For me, I learn the best from MCQs and I think the WTB is exceptional. I've only used CPAExcel with WTB so far.

    My CPAExcel program comes with the WTB. I have the Platinum course.

    You should be good then in my opinion. It's been enough for me on BEC and AUD. Waiting on my FAR score and taking REG soon. I make sure I hammer the WTB a week or so before my exams though.

    Just be warned with CPAExcel that they have a LOT of down time and server errors. When they switched to their new platform last year their Simulations don't always grade correctly. It can make for frustrating studying when you “fail” a practice exam because the Sims didn't grade correctly.

    @CPAMon:

    Good to know. Thanks! Luckily I'm going to try and use Gleim Sims in addition, although that won't help with my CPAExcel practice exam grade.

    I've never experienced any downtime or server issues with CPAExcel, but their sims are definitely broken. Some of them have extremely specific requirements on the formatting of answers or they don't give credit, and some are just broken and won't award credit at all.

    Despite that issue, CPAExcel alone was enough for me to pass FAR (and actually score pretty highly). The only other test I've taken so far was BEC, and I haven't gotten my score for that yet. I did supplement BEC with Ninja MCQ and found the extra questions beneficial. I'll probably do the CPAExcel review course and supplement with Ninja MCQ on the rest of the exams.
