So for my state (Georgia), I am required to have the following regarding experience:
– One year (2000 hours) of accounting experience
– This experience must be earned no longer than one year prior to CPA licensure application. There may be no breaks in service longer than one year.I worked for a public accounting firm for about 2 years until I quit in October 2017. So, if I pass all my exams and meet all the other requirements before October 2018 then I will be licensed. But I don’t see myself completing all parts by October 2018. So, if I were to get a job by or before October 2018 and lets say I pass all parts by December 2018 then will I have met the experience requirement or am I missing something?
I really feel pressured by this October 2018 deadline “1 year of no experience gap” because I most likely won’t be able to complete the exam sections before then and would then need another full year of working before I can be certified?
Thanks so much for any input and sorry if I wasn’t as clear as possible. Let me know if I can clear anything up. 🙂
