So, I haven’t failed an exam…yet. I had a question about something that I heard from a friend who took one of Beckers in-class courses. I feel like this must be 100% false, mostly because I have never seen it discussed on here, but he said that his instructor told the class that if you fail an exam that your retake will be tailored to your strengths. Has anyone else ever heard this before? Also, I’m curious if those who have had to retake can attest to the possibility of this being true?

I have NEVER heard of this and it sounds totally false. I've retaken a few of these tests and I def wouldn't say it was tailored towards my strengths nor would I say that the people who make this test are trying to do me ANY favors.

That assumption would mean that the AICPA somehow has hundreds or thousands of variations of each exam each window. Even if some computer algorithim could be developed to accomplish that, they can't even develop an algorithm that grades the exam instantly.

Bottom line, such a fairy tale gives way too much credit to the exam creators…………

I agree with the others, this technique has not been heard of, and doubt if it exist but the best thing to do is study. We all want to pass and the only way to pass is to study.

Maybe this is a way he tricks his student's minds to be more confident in passing the second time around and giving them the motivation to study. The law of attraction.

I don't know from personal experience, but I'd say that's completely false. If it weren't, I'd intentionally tank FAR on Monday, with the exception of any tax questions so they'd test me only on tax for my retake. 🙂

Agree. I trust the individual that I heard this from, but I knew the second I heard it that it must be false.
