has anyone ever asked themselves that question or something similar – like clean up the upstairs bedrooms or study to pass this test? what do you normally answer?

Are you actually studying for any tests, or do you come here to take polls?

this forum was created to help one another through this journey and not waist any one's time. Don't get me wrong Some_day but if you come here to host these types of questions, I think you are in the wrong place. If you are studying for the CPA, you should take advantage of every minute you have, and if you think you need a break, you should take a real break (take a walk or watch a funny you-tube video), but posting a question like this, i think most people would have no time to answer it.

I'm really not sure why people are so negative… I came here because I needed a break and a community who understood the struggle! I get the feeling Some_day. When I was studying it was such a dilemma to pick between studying or going out to eat with the family, or babysitting my niece/nephew. But, at the end of the day I knew if I was just avoiding or not 🙂

If you're too distracted studying at home, try going to the library or the nearest coffee shop where other people are studying.

If you're feeling burnt out or a little bit out of it, then try taking a walk or hanging out with your friends and family one evening.

If that still doesn't work, then try taking the day off and coming back to your study materials with a new set of eyes.

However, It's important to stay disciplined and committed even if you'd rather be doing something else. If you find ways to make studying bearable, you'll be able to keep at it! You can even try rewarding yourself for hitting certain goals.

    Good luck!

yeah i don't understand the negativity associated with this post. it's an interesting topic in my opinion. even during a Roger FAR lecture, he says how you're probably more interested in finally getting around to organizing the pantry or something (can't remember exactly what) than studying for the CPA but to hang in there and keep studying. it rang really true with me at the time because i was fed up with studying, and even cleaning up the house was more alluring to me than studying.

I don't know why the above people stressed so much about studying every minute of their life? What about work life balance?
    ———
Why can't you do both? Cut your gym routine for one week and instead spend 1 hour cleaning the garage? How about study for three hours and then take a break for 45 minutes to clean the garage and 15 minutes for coffee and snacks? I think this is fair? And if you work full time, practice one set of test bank, clean the garage, and then do another set of test bank, coffee and snacks, and repeat…

People need to chillax. Some people come here for advice, some people come here to relax and connect. If you have no time for this type of discussion, then you should have known before you clicked on the title. You can only blame yourself for the minute you wasted typing up a response.

I come here for a break as many do.

Mine isn't the cleaning the garage choice it's the tractor trailer school I could have gone to. Freedom of the open road…

I think I could have come out ahead financially.
