    Hi Guys,

Here is what happened… I applied for AUD and BEC in one NTS, however, I only could manage to take 1 sections on the exam – AUD (on the last day of the expiration of NTS – 05/11/17). So basically I lost my BEC fees… A month before my NTS is expired, I applied for the new NTS, I wanted to schedule and pay BEC fees right after I took AUD and my old NTS got expired… I received my approval to take exams, and Im at the point where I can choose my exams; however, It’s been several days as my old NTS got expired, and I still cannot choose BEC as an exam to take… It says that the schedule/attendance is still pending on the status page. What should I do? Is it going to take few more days?

Please share your experience and knowledge!

    Thank youu

    Hi,

I've never been in your situation, but why don't you call or email your state board? I've had to forfeit my fees for sections on my NTS before and instead of waiting for the section to expire on its own, I had to email them a signed letter requesting that they expire the sections early and that I acknowledge that I'm forfeiting my fees. It only took a few days before I could select those sections again.

Also, keep in mind, anyone taking an exam between April 1st and May 31st won't be getting their scores til Aug. I'm taking AUD in a few weeks and my NTS will expire in June, but I won't get my score til Aug. I don't know if the status will remain as schedule/attendance pending or if they would expire it as I've never been in this situation before. So you may be playing the waiting game til Aug due to the late score release. I don't know. I think it would be a lot faster to just call customer service as opposed to waiting.

    Hey @Loveandbeloved,

Did you find information about the process of expiring the sections early online or did you call NASBA or your state board? I am trying to expire an NTS early as well. Thanks!

    Hey @wakefern58,

I actually found out the process by emailing my state board (CA) the following rant (haha):

“I just submitted a new application. I applied for all the sections back in January, which I realize now was clearly a bad idea. I’m currently trying to pass BEC and there’s no way I’d be able to study (or pass) AUD, REG, or FAR by 10/16/16. I want to reapply for AUD and REG only this time, and I want to schedule my AUD exam for the end of November as soon as possible. Are you guys willing and able to expire my old application prematurely so I can reapply for AUD and REG and schedule my AUD exam before seats get filled up? Or would I have to schedule my exams ASAP, be a no-show, and receive 0 scores in order for me to reapply for those sections? Obviously that’s a facetious question, but I mean, I’m going to fail whether I show up or not – I’m not even studying for these sections, nor do I have time to study since I’m focusing on BEC right now. So I don’t see any harm in just expiring them now so I can reapply. I'm already accepting the exam fees I paid as a loss, so whether I fail due to only having 4 weeks to study or letting it expire naturally, I will still have to reapply for them anyway. I’m just trying to do it sooner than later since the application process is so slow and old fashioned. Please help.”

    Then they emailed me this:

“You may request to have individual sections on your Notice to Schedule (NTS) cancelled prior to the actual expiration date of the NTS if the NTS is still valid for a minimum of ten business days.

To request the cancellation of your NTS, you must submit a written to the CBA. Please include the following information:

    · Name
    · Unique ID
    · Application/Remittance Number
    · Section(s) on the NTS that you want to expire early
    · A statement acknowledging that the section fees paid for the NTS are now forfeit.
    · A statement confirming you do not have an appointment scheduled with Prometric
    · Handwritten signature
    · Date

Please note: Prometric will charge a fee for cancellation or rescheduling sections less than 30 days from the appointment date. If the appointment is within 30 days, you have the option of not submitting a request and keeping the appointment. If you do not appear for the appointment, you are considered a “NO SHOW.” Prometric does not charge additional fees for a “NO SHOW.” It may take up to five business days for the CBA to receive the “NO SHOW” information. After the information is received, it will be posted in your account. At that time, you will be able to reselect the section(s) you did not attend.”

It took them a few days to respond to my email, and I just scanned them the signed form. If you wanted a faster response, you could call your state board instead and have them email you the procedures while you're on the phone….
