I have just recently received my bachelors degree in Accounting, and have a bachelors degree in hospitality management. I have contacted and mailed paperwork (transcripts) to NASBA.org to see if i qualify to take the CPA, I should be fine. I have purchased the review Wiley CPA Plus Platinum and considering paying monthly for Ninja. If I start studying August 1, and schedule first exam within September 10th will I be fine? I am going to study 4 hours per day, estimate of 120 hours of study time, I will either take Reg. or Far. first. I would appreciate any insight, I AM NERVOUS!!!

I would recommend more than 4 hours per day on the weekends, and leave yourself at least a week to review all chapters before your exam. Make sure you understand concepts and do not memorize multiple choice. It's natural to be very nervous. Good luck!

Thank you 74 Phoenix. How many hours on the weekends should I put in? And one week to review all the chapters how did you review them?

I think Wiley recommends closer to 180-200 hours for FAR.
I am not sure 5-6 weeks for FAR is realistic.
I would recommend 8-10 weeks with a 2 week minimum for review phase.
Also, you should sample more reviews courses than just one before making your purchase. Maybe it's already too late.

I agree with Recked, I'm sure it could work for some people, but I wouldn't have been able to get through REG or FAR that fast while still leaving time to review. I also found it best to leave at least 2 weeks for review.

It all depends on you, being a recent grad you are more in the habit of studying than people coming back to take it after being in the workforce for years. I am a grad student so kind of in a similar boat. I feel like it helps a lot, especially if you know how you learn best (for me its videos once or twice to get the basics, fill in details with reading the section, then questions from that section to reinforce the concepts, and doing a set of question covering all the material covered so far every few days to keep things fresh). I personally only review for a week and even that is usually too long and I end up slacking near the end of that week because I have trouble going over the same stuff over and over if I feel like I already know it. I don't know how many hours I studied for FAR but I'm doing REG now as my last section (if I passed AUD which I find out Friday) and am planning for around 100 hours, not including review. If you think based on the above responses you may need more time for FAR maybe start with REG instead.

I did 2 months, approx. 2 hours/day for all of them and came out fine. Let the practice questions tell you how well you are doing. If you are trending 75%+ after that 1 month of study, then by all means sit. I just wouldn't go into it on a wing and a prayer if you aren't doing well on the practice questions by the time you need to sit.
