    Good morning –

    I recently passed the CPA exam and I am waiting on the congratulatory letter. What time-frame can I expect? I looked at the CPA Central website and the letter dates appear to be under the old format (before delayed score release).

    Thanks!

    I waited a few days before calling the VBOA (VA) yesterday. It ended with me resending my score notification and it was processed that same day.

    I already had my ethics exam and experience verification processed, so my last exam score was the absolute last thing necessary. I got my congratulatory email a few hours later.

    I have my number now! 🙂

    @ashleymariete,

    So you have to contact your state board to provide them with your score notification? Based on what I read, we are supposed to receive the letter from CPAES with additional information regarding State qualifications requirements. It doesn't say anything about having to contact our state boards.

    Per NASBA (https://nasba.org/exams/cpaexam/scores/):

    “If you tested through jurisdictions represented by CPA Examination Services (CPAES) – except Florida – you will receive a congratulatory letter from CPAES upon passing the entire CPA Examination. This letter will provide you with further instructions on how to obtain your license, per your Board’s qualifications. All other candidates will receive additional instruction regarding the licensure application process directly from their Board of Accountancy.”

    Waiting on mine I believe our state sends them out about 5 days after score release so possibly by the end of the week I will receive. I guess I will put it on my office wall until I get my official certificates.

    I should not have had to send my score notification, but I got antsy and called. Coincidentally, they said they did not get my score, so I resent it via email. I'm happy I didn't wait any longer if they were not going to get it anyway.

    Now i”m officially a licensed CPA!
