Confused about NTS dates and Prometric appt duration

Okay, this is not my first rodeo, so maybe I’m just brain dead today.

Just got my NTS for FAR and BEC. My NTS says earliest I can take FAR is 4/1/16 and latest I can take it is 10/01/16. Okay, I get it. Six-month window starting in April, no problem.

But then, my NTS says that the earliest I can take BEC is 3/16/16 and the latest is 9/16/16. It’s a six-month window yes, but since when can we take exams in March? I’m assuming nothing has changed and I wouldn’t be allowed to take an exam at all in September, but shouldn’t I get the option to take it on Oct 1?

Has anyone experienced this before? Is this normal, or should I contact NASBA? I guess in the end, it won’t make a difference because I am taking BEC in April, but if NASBA screwed up my NTS, I think they should know.

Second, when I scheduled my BEC and FAR exams, my Prometric appt duration said 3.5 hours for BEC and 4.5 hours for FAR. I don’t remember seeing this before, or I know I would have questioned it. It used to be 3 and 4 hours. Are we getting an extra 30 minutes for the exams now, or is Prometric adding the time for check-in procedures?

    AUD - 77
    REG - 73, 80
    FAR - 69, 73, 79 and DONE!
    BEC - 82

This is normal. The 6 month clock starts as soon as you receive the NTS and does not take the black-out months into account. They are “lost” months. I had the same issue with one of mine (can't remember the details anymore), but they just waived it off.

Second – they are adding time for check-in/out. I almost messed up my REG exam royally because I thought I had that extra 30 mins. I'm really glad I caught it before I started!

    Exam:I'm done 🙂 🙂 🙂
    REG - 71 (2/22/14); 67 (4/3/14); 74 (8/29/15); 83 (2/29/16)!!!
    BEC - 72 (5/24/14); 85 (1/3/15)!!!!
    AUD - 72 (8/23/14); 76 (10/15/14)!!!
    FAR - 77 (5/26/15)!!!

Started in 2013 using Kaplan and failed REG, REG, BEC, AUD. Switched to NINJA suite in Sept 2014 and passed AUD...then BEC...then FAR!
REG took 2 tries but I finally got it in too!
I'm a hard convert - Using NINJA method with NINJA video/book/notes/MCQ

    Education: Check
    Experience: 3 months left! I hit 4 years on May 30 🙂

You cannot take FAR twice in one window and the window probably technically ends the last day of March.

And yes, those are the normal duration times for those tests according to prometric … don't know why because you don't get an extra half an hour.

They do give you those 30 minutes to check in. Also, for mine whenever I apply for my NTS it starts when I get it. So if I apply for it in a blackout month then my six months start in that blackout month.

    AUD - 73, 72 retake 7/2/2016
    BEC - 8/20/2016
    REG - TBD
    FAR - TBD

I am so ready for this nightmare to be over. Been at this way too long.
