I’m trying to update my resume and would like to represent myself as a CPA. However I’m actually licensed out of state. I’m in Texas and licensed in Idaho.

I’m not in public accounting anymore and don’t plan on returning so I don’t really need to sign off on financials or anything. I just want it to improve my resume.

I can’t find anything on Texas Board website that specifically addresses this, so here I am.

Safest is probably to disclose you're licensed in Idaho. Then there's no risk of a Texas employer looking you up on the TSBPA website, not seeing a license, and jumping to conclusions.

To be licensed in TX you have to give them all your paper work regarding your license and take an ethics exam.

    -----------------------------
    BEC - 77, 03/2015 (first try)
    FAR - 79, 05/2015 (second try)
    REG - 83, 12/2015 (first try)
    AUD - 84, 03/2015 (first try)

I got 99 problems but the CPA ain't one.
