Can I remove my GPA from my resume?

Just wondering at what point the amount of work experience you have trumps your need to provide proof you are a hard worker with academic reassurances …

I plan on hitting the job market sometime this summer, and I will be approaching four years of work experience at that point. I have a decent college GPA -3.3, with a 3.5 in my accounting classes. I know that its not helping anything, but it could be higher and may potentially hurt me in some ways. I just wondered if it was safe to remove my GPA at this point in my career or if I still might get some push back from potential employers as to why its not listed.

    BEC -02/27/16 - 74 (very sad), 4/16/16 - 77

I would remove it, I think your work experience now trumps the GPA. When I interview, I rarely ever see GPA's on resumes of the candidates with relevant work experience.

Removing it. Hopefully I can knock out BEC next window and I can replace my GPA with CPA and that will provide enough assurance about my work ethic (along with I hope stellar recommendations from my two managers).

You don't need it unless it's the first (possibly second) job out of college.

The director and I have a laugh when a candidate puts their GPA on their resume. It's not a deal breaker if they do, but it's definitely not something we look at when the person has more than enough experience.

You can take it off, but a number of accounting firms will ask for it via an online application.

If you're applying for industry jobs, definitely take it off. For public, I'd still take it off if it was me, but sounds like some public firms will still want it.

I've always followed the rule that after your first job GPA comes off. If they want it they will ask for it. I would also take off any student leadership roles, it looks incredibly junior. Again, if you are in an interview and want to bring up your leadership in college so long as you can sell the comparison, it's a great speaking point but nothing that should be on the resume.

My GPA was a 3.5 and I passed the exam but I have about 3 months of accounting experience so I only qualify for entry level positions. Still take off the GPA number?

I would keep it on in that case. You are basically entry level, it helps a lot…
