Hello, my Becker materials will be expiring soon and have thus far been unsuccessful at the CPA exam. If I were to do ninja book, ninja notes, and ninja MCQ, would that be enough to pass assuming I put in the time and effort?

    Thanks

@cpa4928 thank you! Quite a refreshing change to hear a compliment because most of the stuff I say on here, people don't probably see eye-to-eye with.

Oh yeah, meant to say 2 posts ago, I only watch a video one time. Sometimes I rewind, after watching it, or in the middle if I felt like I wasn't listening enough during the important parts of it. But, after that, I don't watch again.

I'm the kind of person who has difficultly staying focused while watching videos. It's the same thing for hours, listen and highlight, listen and highlight. Even when my mind wasn't wandering I felt it wasn't worth my time because what you're highlighting is always a second or 2 behind what the person is saying. I, personally, couldn't focus on both at the same time. By just doing Ninja MCQ and taking notes on all trouble questions I could stay focused and retain the material.

I don't know how much I've learned from the videos really. Some of the Roger ones for FAR were good – I probably wouldn't have scored in the 60s without some of those vids. There were probably 150 FAR vids, some shorter than others. I never counted, but it felt like that. It was a good 25-30 hours' worth of vids though, I'm sure. When I go back and study for my re-take of FAR, I won't be watching any vids again, that I know already.

Some of the Roger AUD ones were good too. I just watched my last one this past week. But, how much did I get out out them? Dunno. A good number of them just seemed repetitive. I get the most out of working problems and taking notes on the problems. In school, I rarely got much out of the lectures unless the professor was working example problems. Those who just babbled about accounting theory or whatever, and didn't connect it with anything practical, made me fall asleep usually. That's the beauty of online school – no lectures.

Videos do nothing for me but waste my precious time. My time would be better spent working sims, JEs, mcqs, and MAYYYBBBEEE reading the text/ninja notes/focus notes. You just have to know what works best for you.
