    Hi everyone,

Has anyone been doing the licensing application in CA? I just passed the exam and I don’t know what to do next to get the license exactly.

I had my boss who is a CPA signed the certificate of general experience (public accounting) since January 2018 but for the working period from May 2016 to July 2017 as full-time. Is it acceptable for licensing?

Also, I still need 3 credits to have a 150-credit requirement. Can I still apply for the license or wait to earn that 3 credits?

For mailing, do I just mail whatever I currently have like my experience paper to the state or mail it with an application?

For my last concern, why does the last date of credit period still show the expired date of the exam sections on the state website? Is it something I need to worry about?

I’m sorry if I ask too much but I am a little bit of overwhelming what to do after the exam. I never thought of it beforehand. Thanks for any help and advice.

if you send in your application for licensure and they see you are 3 units short they will park your application and send you a note saying you are short and they'll wait for the transcript showing the extra units before they proceed further.

I just mailed in my application for licensure about a week ago. I have the exams passed, did the live scan finger printing already, did the ethics exam, and once my quarter at foothill ends (this friday) i have already ordered my transcript which is going to be sent to the CBA once the spring units post. Likely first week of july.

Ive heard the processing time of the application itself is taking some ungodly amount of weeks, check the thread on this forum about that. Thus why I mailed my application in ahead of my actual transcript being available. However, I am playing the game with only a couple weeks difference here. For you I doubt you'll get your 3 units done and the transcript to them before they begin to process your application if you send it in now…seeing as it'll take you at least 3 or 4 months to start and finish a quarter or semester long class.

As for the general experience, you arent supposed to mail that yourself, so do NOT include it with your application. Your supervisor is supposed to mail it in themselves, last thing you want is the CBA questioning the integrity of that GenEx sign-off if it came from you directly.

    GOod luck.

Thank you for the answers, Tommy. For the expired day, I think I have to call the state to make sure they are not expired because my REG section still shows that it will expire in Feb 2019 as other sections.

What if I submit the application but CBA ends up saying I am short with units. After I take a course to fulfill do I need to resubmit the application and repay the fee? Is there any grace period to resend the update transcript?
    Thank you!
