Are there any California CPAs on here who could tell me how long it took to get their license issued?

I got my final exam score on 9/20/16. I sent in my application and my check for $250 that day, so they probably got it on the 22nd. The CBA has not yet cashed my check. I know it’s a process (like everything with the CBA), but I’m wondering how long it took before you guys received your license number.

I had already taken care of everything else and sent it all in previously.

Just wondering how this turned out for everyone. I sent the state a $120 money order last week so waiting to see my license number on the CA website. It should be this month.

I will say I am surprised most of the people I went to school with years ago have not passed the exam, even the ones that made senior. Yes I get that the test is a –tch, but you can take it over and over.

Waiting on CA to cash my check for my license. I sent it in on 11/2; two weeks ago tomorrow. I'm hoping that my number gets issued pretty quick after it gets cashed. I can't wait!!!!

FINALLY got my pre-approval voucher dated 11/19 – mailed my check 11/24. Question for those of you who recently sent the voucher: the “Address of Record” is the address you have chosen for public record, so it will be the one shown when your license is looked up, correct? I first wrote my home address, then had to scratch it out and put my work address since that is the one I want on public record.

@cpa2bee – that was my understanding. I put the address of my firm on there. The state still has not cashed my check though. Mailed it on 11/2…..still waiting! I'm eager for my number!

@Dewdewyah I'm sure they have your check and marked as received, sometimes it takes them a long time to deposit it. I think they have issue dates maybe once or twice a month where they dish out numbers to approved candidates who paid the voucher. Hopefully in the next few days you get it!

So I've been obsessing over this, as I have most phases of this CPA process, and have done a little research through the license lookup feature on the CBA website. The issue license numbers sequentially, in number order. The patterns I've seen are that they issue handfuls of licenses on certain days. The last 150-200 licenses issued were on the following dates:

– Oct 16
– Oct 25
– Nov 7
– Nov 10

There has not been any licenses issued since Nov 10! Almost 3 weeks, so I can only hope that they should be dishing out some more very soon!

So I emailed the CBA this morning. Apparently, they cashiered my check on the 21st. They said I should have a number issued by the end of the week. They said it takes 5-7 business days to issue the number. My coworker got his number issued a few weeks ago and it still doesn't show up on the CBA website, so I wouldn't take too much info from that.

So did your coworker receive his certificate in the mail before they posted it to the website? I have heard that they post it to the website first.

Now you guys are starting to scare me … we'll get it when we get it I guess, but I really wanted by this weekend. That way it can be reported to the audit committee this year.

Money order was received on 11/7 per USPS tracking but zilch on the website as of today. I will email them Monday and say: come on, I don't want to mess up the company's certification rate yo!

@CPA2BEE – His number just got posted to the website today. He got his number by email from the CBA about 2-3 weeks ago I think. It took a long time for them to post it. He has not received his certificate in the mail yet.

I've been emailing them once a day to see if my number has been issued yet. Still no luck. They haven't emailed me back yet for today's email though. Unfortunately, my whole firm went to the Spidell tax update yesterday, so there is 8 hours of CPE that won't count for me.
