Hi everyone – I had a question regarding the 150 credit hour requirement particularly for California, but likely applicable for other states as well. I was hoping if you all had insight on the following:

    1) Is there any way to be sure you meet the requirement for 24 accounting, 24 business, 20 accounting study, and 10 ethics units prior to submitting to the state? Has anyone submitted and gotten rejected because sufficient units under each category were not met?

    2) I am taking additional classes through Foothill college now, but would appreciate if there are other routes that people have taken to meet the requirements in the “fastest” way possible. My firm requires all requirements to be licensed to be met prior to August 2016 this year to be considered for promotion, so I am looking for methods such as CLEP which I can take advantage of to build credits as fast as possible.

    Thanks so much guys.

Hi Calicpa! Yup, I have submitted 2 times in the past and been rejected for not having the correct amount of hours in each category. The first time they accepted one group of hours, but rejected another. I submitted again, along with a detailed spreadsheet pointing out that they had missed counting a crucial class. They recalculated and accepted it, but then denied the previous group that they had already accepted. Grrrrr. It can be a long and frustrating process at times. I did most of my accounting hours through UC Berkeley online. Good luck and best wishes!

    AUD 88 (expired), 80 retake
    FAR 64,69,67,73,67,73,73,73, August 3
    REG 75 (expired) September 7
    BEC 72, 77

    The adventure continues...

Ooh yes take a CLEP exam. You can pass “Analyzing Literature” with no study. Check if your school grants credit for that one. I also passed Spanish with zero study as well so depends how well versed you are with that.

    BEC - 78 (August 2015)
    FAR - 80 (November 2015)
AUD - 73, 67. (Ok I gotta confess I was even more lazy this time around)
    REG - August 27th, 2016

I am in CA too. How are you planning on transfer CLEP result to a college transcript?

    REG 90
    FAR 95
    AUD 98
    BEC 84

If you have doubt in how to classify one or some of your classes, you can send email to the board and ask. I have done that before and they are able to tell me the answer. Although I don't think they will review your whole transcript unless you apply the license, you can just give it a try and you may get lucky 🙂

Also There is a sheet on the board website for you to do self-calculation.

    REG 90
    FAR 95
    AUD 98
    BEC 84
