    Friends ,

I thought following option could be correct. But it is wrong answer .I am not understanding why it is wrong. I am missing some clue which makes it wrong option.

If major corp had not paid shipping charges . Carrier would prevent major corp to sell those goods .Thus it will enforce lien on goods in their custody .

mcq Question= Which of the following statements is correct concerning a bill of lading in the possession of Major Corp. that was issued by a common carrier and provides that the goods are to be delivered “to bearer”?

Wrong option = The carrier’s lien for any unpaid shipping charges does not entitle it to sell the goods to enforce the lien.

Without having the other 3 options (or more importantly, the correct one), this is somewhat a stab in the dark, but here goes:

I think the reason this was the wrong answer is not specifically because the statement made in the answer was wrong, but because the answer selected does not answer the question being asked.

The question that was asked was “Which of the following statements is correct concerning a bill of lading in the possession of Major Corp that was issued by a common carrier and provides that the goods are to be delivered “to bearer”?”

Note the part I emphasized. It doesn't indicate that the bill of lading said anything about the lien, so an answer that's talking about a lien isn't an answer concerning the bill of lading. Again, without knowing what the right answer was or what the other answer options were I'm somewhat making assumptions about the question, but based on the question and just this 1 wrong answer, it looks like the trick to this question was that it didn't just ask “What's correct?” but “What is correct about this one specific thing?”, and that one specific thing was the “deliver to bearer” bill of lading.

    Does that help?
