I need some pointers for a phone call I have scheduled this week with a recruiter at a Big 4 for a position in their forensics department. I was contacted by the recruiter through linkedin and I am so excited about the possibility of joining their team, it would be a dream come true! I am currently working as a forensic accountant but my expertise is not in fraud, which is what they are looking for and also it’s the area of forensics that I have always wanted to work in. I am sure several skills I have developed at my current job will help me in this position but I don’t want to be deceiving either so I plan on expanding on topics about my experience that would be applicable to his position. In the initial message I responded and told the recruiter (in a positive way) that I do not have fraud experience, rather I told him briefly what my area of expertise was in and the recruiter also has my CV which I’m sure he has reviewed. This is for a senior position but since I meet several of their requirements so believe this is why they have contacted me, I only have a little over one year of experince. Any pointers or questions I should be prepared for, it’s only the first step in the hiring process and there is a possibility nothing will happen after the phone call but I am absolutely going to try my hardest!
