I am finishing up an accounting certificate at UCB Ext and need to take 1 last elective. Trying to choose between Bus Law or Taxation of Bus Entities. For those who have taken REG and BEC, which class do you think would help me the most in understanding the material covered in those sections?

I don't think either course will help for BEC.
For REG… Business Law is a small portion of Reg, it's important, but you can pass Reg without BusLaw, but you can't pass Reg without knowing tax.
I'd go for the Taxation of Business Entities if I were you.
Also probably will give you more real life help career wise, if you are going in to tax.
The general law understanding is important, but CPA's can't practice Law, so better to be more educated in tax.

I think you’ll be fine. I think most review courses cover the basics well enough for someone who has never taken a tax class. For example, I never took a tax class beyond individual taxation (this was in 2015 before TCJA), but I’m scoring about 70% on most tax sections, even corporate taxation. The most important thing is to find a good review course that works best for your learning style. The review course will teach you what you need to know for the exam

Thanks for the replies, that helps a lot! I was leaning toward taking Taxation for Bus for career path reasons anyway. I am using Roger to study for the exams, but want to finish up this certificate and just need 1 more elective. I sat for FAR as my first exam attempt on Dec 10 (last day before the window closed) but failed with a 68 🙁 I wasn't really planning on taking it before the end of 2019 but since Roger recommended taking it if you can before the changes in 2020 I decided to go for it. Studied a little over 6 weeks (about 100 hrs) and was able to get through all the material but I think my weakness was that I didn't spend enough time reviewing and practicing lots of MCQs. I just finished taking an auditing course for my cert so I am going to take AUD next while all that stuff is still fresh in my brain. I just signed up here on Ninja and going to check out the MCQ test bank. Thanks again for the advice!
