I dont know how to take the score on this thing. I received comparable on 4 content areas of the MCQs and Stronger on Financial Management and Information systems. The only part I got weaker on was the WC and I still got a 70. I guess the WC is weighted heavier than people think. Im not sure what to do about the written communication. I guess I just need to get faster at the MCQs so I have more time on for WC. So discouraging.

I would not pay attention to that sheet. It is just showing you how you did between other test takers. Meaning you could have been stronger in a section because everyone else sucked in that section this quarter.

Don't put any weight on the score report … I agree that yours does not make sense. I just received my second 74 in BEC, I am beyond frustrated.

Yeah it definitely wont make a difference on the retake.

MaLo Tu- I thought you had this thing in the bag this time. No rhyme or reason I guess. Just hit it again and hope for the best. Worst thing is having to wait two more months to get another shot at it.

Your report sounds absolutely fair to me.

Let say
Corporate Governance (18%)
Economic Concepts and Analysis (18%)
Financial Management (21%)
Information Systems and Communications (17%)
Strategic Planning (12%)
Operations Management (14%)

75 = Comparable , 81 = Strong

Your point in MCQ would be 77.28 * 80% = 61.82

Your point in WC let say is 41%. that would be 41*20% = 8.2

Add up both part you got 70.024

I know, I know, the exam scoring system may not calculate in this way, but I don't see why it can't happen.

RWCPA – I know! I seriously have no idea why I keep missing that one point. I am focusing on FAR right now. I only have these two left. I think that they variety of material is what is getting me. BEC and FAR have so many components.

MaLo Tu- I think you are correct; there is a large verity of material on both of those. It makes it difficult to know where to focus. I am sure you will get it on the next go round. I am working on mastering you template for WC.

IB553- No I dint think the questions were difficult. I feel I knew the material that was referenced. My problem was that I had 15 minutes to do all 3 WC's so I did the first one well (I think) and then threw some crap together for the last two. For all I know I spent my time on the one that didn't matter. I will need to be sure and give myself more time on the retake.

@RWCPA I think you just need more time for WC. Atleast 45 min. I took BEC today and had 45 min of 3 WC. However, I had to guess on several computational mcqs. That can impact my mcq score. But atleast I tried.

I agreed to what everyone said not to pay attention much on the score report. When I failed the second time I was like have no idea why I got just 1 point up more than the first score (1st 68, 2nd 69) even though I studied intensively. I just forgot about the report and started it over, pretended like I knew nothing. I know it is hard but you can do it! 3 attempts for me to pass BEC.

BEC was very tough man.. Stick with it try using NINJA MCQ, they helped me get through it.

@MaLOTu If it's worth anything I really thought you had it in the bag as well. Certainly your posts showed you had a command of the material. I am mystified how this thing is scored (though I'm definitely starting to question people who claim to study two weeks, skip a few sections and pull a mid-eighties score.). I know you won't give up and I also know you deserved to pass!

Thanks, CPA2021! I was telling my mom that I have helped teach others who have went on and passed! Deep down I know that there is no difference between my knowledge at a 74 and my knowledge at a 75. i can push on with BEC but it is FAR that is making me nervous.

@MaLoTu, I use Becker review and I wonder how I can delete a chosen option on the sims (especially those written options where you cant just edit)? I mean sometimes some cells should be left unfilled and it happens that you fill them while you should not have to, so do you know a way how we can we delete it? or does anyone have an idea?

Btw was your BEC score announced?

As for the sims on Becker, do you mean when you select something in the pull down menu you can turn it back to blank? I remember that I had an issue on that, as well. The Becker sim software is not the greatest. I think you may have to end your session. If there is no option for that then you may have to log out and back in again.
