I saw the link with the format of the BEC written communication, but I have 2 questions I hope you can help me with:

1) Are you supposed to date your written communication (if so what part of the page (left/right))?

2) Are you supposed to write Dear Mr./Mrs. ….?

I ask since I see many simulations in the Roger book as well as many on NINJA MCQ is missing a date of and a Dear …..

If it's a business memo, which most of them are, then you don't write “Dear Mr./Mrs”. I've never seen anyone date a WC so I wouldn't bother doing that. Whether or not you sign in at the end seems to be up for debate, but I did it for my retake.

I agree with what RE2PECT said – I've never seen a date and usually on the test it has the “To Blah” part so I never wrote “Mr. Mr/Mrs.”
