Having trouble with the variance problems in BEC. Does anyone have any good memorization techniques? Easy ways to learn this stuff. Exam is 6/9 and this is the last piece I am struggling with.

SAD PURE DADS DADS is the best way for DM and DL variances

SAD – Standard – Actual = Difference

Price = Diff * Actual
Usage = Diff * Standard
Rate = Diff * Actual
Efficiency = Diff * Standard

Haha thank you! I'm drilling the questions, but unlike the labor and material variances which click in my head (and that SAD PURE DADS DADS mnemonic is helping a HUGE amount), VOH and FOH make no sense to me whatsoever. I found this video on YouTube from a poster here on this forum from a couple years ago that hopefully will help me come test day.

For the VOH I use the same as the DL variances. R = DA and E = DS. The tiny difference is that the efficiency one uses standard hours based on actual production.

The FOH are the easites FOH spending you can use SAD as well and for the other just combined standard and budgeted.

I'm liking variances now.

But how's coefficient of correlation or determination treating you? I am not even sure what I am reading or looking through all these graphs or diagrams in NINJA MCQs.

I firmly believe these graphs and diagrams are just ways Ninja is teaching your brain the content. I can't imagine being thrown these huge graphs on an actual exam.
