So I’m sure this question has been asked but I didn’t want to sift through all the message boards looking for the answer.

I took BEC May 31st. Scheduled release date is tomorrow night (June 8th). I have read that BEC takes longer to grade because of written communication analysis. My question — is there any point in staying up till 1 in the morning to see if my score is released? Is it pretty certain the score release will be delayed a week?

BEC is graded by a computer just the same as the other exams. I have seen some people complain about BEC taking a little longer but I’ve also heard of people who took their exams on the last day and got their scores on time. I’m in the same boat as you in that I took it on 5/31 but I think I’ll still check right at 1 AM.

As I understand it, the only time BEC isn't fully machine-graded is if you are right on the line of pass/fail. More than likely you'll receive your score on the 8th.

Thanks, I guess I have been misinformed. I was always under the impression the written communication was manually graded. A friend of mine says they don't necessarily grade solely off if your answer is right or wrong but are also looking to see if you have formulated a well written response (ex. grammatically correct, address the issue at hand, correct tone based off who you are writing to, etc). Some of those seem difficult for a computer to grade accurately.
