BEC and all of the formulas

I will officially start studying for BEC in two weeks (when I am able to purchase the materials). However, cruising the various threads clued me in to the numerous formulas I’d be faced with learning. So, my question is just how important are these formulas? Basically, should I know each one? As noted by feedback provided by others, people have become overwhelmed by them and I would like to start becoming familiar with those (if I have to) so that maybe I’ll have a headstart when I officially start studying the materials. What do you think?

I'm tired of operating in fear and mediocrity. It's time to try. It's time to do. It's time to go.

I am currently studying for a BEC retake … the formulas are pretty important.

As I am going through the material I want to gouge my eyes out because some of this stuff I have no idea how I will remember (right now it is certain elements of process costing).

With that being said, I almost passed last time without knowing any financial formulas. So, it is best to know as many as you can retain, but I don't think they test as extensively as the practice material has you feel.

I got a list on here … I will try to find the thread.

with the formulas, conceptual understanding might help more than textual memorization.

While formulas are certainly part of the exam, the testing might not be explicit, and the testing might not require you to know every part of the formula

sufficient familiarity with the factors and personalized rationalization of each variable's placement within the formula could help you in aforementioned scenarios.

Perfect! I appreciate each of you providing very necessary clarity on this thing for me. I sort of anticipated the responses, so I started studying them anyway. Oddly enough, I find that I'm able to group certain formulas with similar formulas thus establishing a relationship that is assisting me with learning them. At this point, it is making some sense. Hopefully, I remain optimistic. Today, I will write out 15 formulas and then make a voice note on my phone that I can listen to. I refuse to be overwhelmed when I can learn the material in bites as opposed to chunks.

I'm tired of operating in fear and mediocrity. It's time to try. It's time to do. It's time to go.

    AUD: 98
    REG: 91
