I feel that I am in a bad situation. I started studying Reg but it took me a while to choose which software would work and studying habit. Anyway long story short I was planning on taking test in June but I don’t see that happening. I am still doing homework for chapter one and I guess I should just take it in July. I am just very worried about that change in Regulation and Audit test.

The CPA test, Law, Regulation, Accounting, GAAP, the world are always changing so people can get to keep their job. Stop BS some excuses to yourself and start studying hard and really hard.

I started studying Reg today. I'm sitting June 6th. I'm working full-time. Obviously, what works for me doesn't necessarily work for everyone – but I know I'll get it done; I just need to suck it up and do it.

Nahla – If you are studying as much as you claim then you should not be on Chapter 1. I personally try to get through the lectures of each chapter and go through the questions once and then I move on. Sometimes the subsequent chapters help fill in and/or build up your knowledge of an earlier chapter. Trying to perfect one chapter before moving on in inefficient and at this rate you will not remember most of what you did in the first chapter.

If you have to move your exam to July make sure you have a study plan and you stick to it. There are a lot of threads on here on what people suggest. You should use the search bar and read through some. You may find someone who has similar experiences to you that found something that worked for them that you can try.

Good luck! This is a long and daunting process.

Believe me when you keep doing everything else (including A71) instead of studying, you become a cheerleader for everyone else who have studied and passed. My husband kicked me off the cheerleader squad and demanded that I isolate (the meat of tax season is officially over) and study. He (of all people) does not want to hear me whine, cry, complain, make excuses, or spend anymore money on the cpa process any longer. So, the point is, go on and study and get this behind you and it won't matter what ever changes are made, you (me) are done.
I'm really glad my husband and I are finally on the same page.

My answer depends on your situation. If you're working full time and have 2 kids, push it out- that's cutting it too close.

If you're young and either not working full time (ideal) or a full time job is your only obligation (no kids, no school) you've got 5 weeks and absolutely should be able to get this done in that time frame.

You should change your exam date to late July.
I think you need 2 weeks for the reviewing process alone.

Some people suggested to skip reading the book and watching the videos, and focus on doing the multiple choice questions only. If you don't have enough time to study before your test, you can always try this strategy.

What's done is done, but depending on your time constraints and previous experience with tax, you could be ready to test in June. Without knowing your background, it'd probably be better to push it back to July but don't push it back anymore. I've seen too many people on here who get in the habit of pushing exams back over and over. Once I committed to a test date, I used that hard deadline as motivation to study. Like others have said, things are going to change, irregardless of the exam changes. If you've committed to studying for REG, I don't see why you'd be concerned with any of the other sections. These exams are daunting enough without thinking about multiple parts at once. Also, don't try to be perfect on any chapter – it's a waste of time. The blessing about the exam covering so much material is 90 questions isn't nearly enough for them to ask you about specifics on everything. Good luck!
