Audit Simulations

    Feel free to ignore my question if it counts as exam disclosure (I’m not sure if this counts or not). I’m wondering if people got drop downs in their audit simulations or not? I’m currently studying with Wiley and a lot of their practice simulations have drop down menus to choose from. I don’t want to think that’s what I’ll see on the actual exam if that isn’t the case.

    You will.

    The lesson that I've learned from taking the exams (all but Audit), is that what you decide isn't relevant, will show up, and a decent amount of what they throw at you will be that. So, make sure to be comfortable with the DRS. For some context, I took REG a month ago, and out of my 8 sims, 3 or 4 were DRS. Seems like the new exam will be much more heavily testing through this type of question.

    Thanks for the insight! When I sat for REG last time I only got one DRS, but four of my other simulations had extra tabs of information that I needed to read/look at in order to answer the question. Hopefully if I just know the information well it will get me through the simulations. Good luck to you as well!

    and unlike in the previous DRS simulations, once I selected an answer, it became regular text like the rest of the paragraph which made it impossible to go back and reread the entire DRS (see where the original selections were) to make sure I selected the answer I wanted to be my final answer.

    I wasn't prepared for that. It doesn't happen in any of my practice exams, nor on the practice exam on the AICPA website.

    yes, the practice SIMS look and feel similar to the real ones.

    As a follow up, besides one of the sims I encountered on the new exam for REG, 7 required looking at extra information. Be prepared for that, as I went in completely shocked by the amount of extra/supplementary information was included with each of those questions.
