I am taking Audit on May 23rd, and I am having anxiety / panic attacks becuase of it. On May 31st I will lose credit for FAR – it took me 5 tries to pass with a 75.

This wil be third time taking AUD with some study put into it. The last two times I used Ninja books and Ninja MCQ and although I was scoring in the 80s I got scores in the mid 60s both times. This is what I have done so far for AUD:

    1) listed to the full Roger lectures twice

    2) done @ 500 Roger MCQs (and again scoring in 80s)

    3) took notes on all questions I have wrong / flagged

    4) made flash cards and notes of all of the “key points”

    5) rereading #3 & #4

    6) listening to the Roger audio lectures 1.5X

At this point I intended on 1) doing 4-5 practice exams, 2) doing the remaining @800 Roger questions, and then redoing all the ones I have received wrong, 3) doing all of the SIMS 2x, 4) reviewing all of the statements (clarfieid, etc), 5) keep rereading notes and listening to lectures.

    What else can I do?

What seems to be jamming me up is that since I am a “tax guy” with zero accouting / auditing experience questions that ask “most likely” or “least likely” seem to end up being crap shoots for me.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    THANK YOU!

Hey Big K, I'm almost in the same situation as you. I said almost because I'm not losing credit for FAR…yet. And we have a couple of common things. I'm also a tax person and audit seems to be like trying to learn a new language or aerospace. Freaking hard for my poor brain haha I've tried this section 2 times and will be taking it again on May 23 too. I have also scored low (61 & 59) with lots of studying :/

I'm really hoping this third time will be the last time I open an audit book, but if I'm honest I think I'll repeat again. I haven't been giving my 100% as I did the 2 previous times. Don't get me wrong, I want to pass and I'm still trying but I feel like what I'm doing is not enough. I'm studying like 20 hours during the week and another 12 hours on the weekends. I switched review courses too. I had Becker for my first two tries, and now I'm using Gleim (I don't like the Gleim book and the test bank is not harder than Becker or Ninja. I think someone who learns fast and have a good memory can pass AUD with only Ninja).

But anyway, this is what I'v done so far:

    1) Read Gleim Book
    2) Answered 2,000+ MCQ in Gleim TB
    3) SIMS-5 chapters in Gleim, so like 30 SIMS.

Plan to do in the next 3 weeks:

    1) Finish Ninja MCQs
    2) Watch Becker Final Review lectures
    3) SIMS

I'm not sure if I'll be able to do everything in the next couple of weeks, but I'm really trying to do so. I'm tired of this stuff and just want to get it over with. So I'll keep pushing myself every day until I'm done with these exams. I obviously don't know the key to pass AUD, but what I would recommend is to keep trying and maybe answer more MCQs. I know is hard and boring but just think about what it would be like when you're done. You're not alone in this journey. I believe we can do it, we just need to keep pushing. Good luck on your exam, don't give up!

    FAR- Passed
    AUD- **F,F,F,** Retake TBD
    REG- Passed
    BEC- Passed

Big K, you can get angry (read this post ->) https://www.another71.com/cpa-exam-forum/topic/aud-how-i-earned-24-additional-points.

I'm having the same problems studying for Reg, it may as well be in a different language.

You've got three weeks left and it looks like you have a plan. My suggestion is to adopt the attitude that failing is not an option.

The only other thing I'd suggest is to really focus on your weak areas – don't be afraid to use other resources to help you understand concepts that aren't sticking. If you're comfortable with a certain area, move on and come back to it during your final review. That's my only problem with using final exams….. you are spending valuable time going over content you're comfortable with vs. nailing the content you're struggling with. Since you've taken the exam previously, you're already in a better spot to know what to expect.

    Good luck.
