I am taking audit tomorrow and I was reading that you can search the auditor reports word for word in the AL. I was wondering if anyone could help me find this because I am having trouble.

I actually found it helpful to create a simple list of section numbers and headings from the AL to gloss over a couple of times while reviewing. Having an idea under which set of standards and section a topic might appear can make searching for specific information incredibly easy. If you get a question on, oh, let's say, the auditor's reports for nonissuers, remembering that there are sections — the 700 series in the statements on auditing standards (AU-C) — that refer to them can narrow down your search considerably. It's also helpful to know how sections are structured, usually with an intro, objective and definitions, followed by the requirements specific to the topic, and then explanatory material that will sometimes include specific examples/illustrations, like the auditor's reports.
