Hey guys, so here’s my quick little scenario. Failed BEC back in dec, feeling pretty good about it now and I’m retaking it Feb 7.. I also have a test date for Aud for March 9. Do you guys feel that will be a good enough time frame? I would be at best studying 4 days a week using Roger and ninja MCQ. I have zero audit experience and really don’t remember much from college. I was thinking of pushing it back till after the changes but I’m worried it will be even that much harder. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Everybody retains info and tests differently, but I know if this were me, roughly one month of studying 4 days a week would not cut it for any parts of the CPA exam. You might be able to squeak a pass in that amount of time, but I would recommend at least studying 6-7 days per week for several hours a day if you only have a month. You can learn the AUD material fairly quickly and easily, but it takes a lot of repetition and looking at it from different angles to be ready for the exam. I always said AUD is the easiest to learn but it is tested to most difficultly, they find really tricky ways of testing it.

Having said all that, anything is possible! There are plenty of people out there who pull off any one of these exams in a few weeks of studying. I personally studied 6 weeks for AUD and got a 71, then studied another 4 weeks and got a 82. I really thought I nailed it the first time and was so shocked when I failed, again this brings me back to easy content being tested in a super tricky way. If there is any advice I can give you for this test in particular its to make sure you not only choose the answer you believe is right, but make sure you justify why the other 3 are wrong. That was the difference maker for me. Hope you can pull it off, good luck!

    FAR - 80
    AUD - 82
    BEC - 80
    REG - 85

    ETHICS - 90

I used Roger book / lectures and ninja MCQ; spent about 35 hours over 3 weeks on the book and videos and another 30 hours / 3 weeks on questions and passed on the first try. That works out to about 90 minutes a day.

    B - 77 (2.27.16)
    A - 81 (4.18.16)

    Hi Supreme,

We're in the same boat, I'm taking AUD on March 6 and BEC next Saturday. I figure that I could study AUD in 5 weeks, a week off of work. It's worth a shot.

    CPA2BEE,

Thank you very much for your detailed response. You're absolutely right about everyone retaining info differently. You're comment made me realize that I really have to put in some serious QUALITY study time if I have any chance. Will definitely do as you suggested with the MC. Thanks!

    Thanks for everyone else input!
