AUD help or tips?

Right now I’m using Becker to prepare for Auditing, and am mainly doing the MCQs and sims.

As I go through the MCQs, I use the book as a reference for reading while practicing the question. This is the first time I use this study tactic as I am running out of time to study for AUD (test Apr 6th) and since it’s not math based.

I am scoring in the 80’s for MCQ homeworks, and generally can get 60-80% right on sims first try. I’m a little nervous about my results on the MCQs and wonder if they might be misleading because I am using the book while I answer questions.

Am I simply overthinking this, or should I continue studying without use of the book? I have not gone through lectures because I am doing my best to pass with only 3 weeks worth of studying. Let me know what you guys think.

    AUD - (4/14) 72...

I would maybe spend another week on what you are doing, then take a progress test or the first practice exam without using the book, then find your weak areas from that and focus on them.

I am also studying for AUD for the second time 🙁 I finished all the material a few days ago, took the first practice exam and found my weak areas from that. I am now spending my time on those weak areas, and doing a progress test every few days, just to keep the other information fresh as well. I take mine on April 2. Good luck!

I'd say don't be afraid to reschedule your exam for a nominal fee for a better chance to pass the exam. If you have the becker final review, listen to it at least once (twice if time permits). This is something Becker hardly emphasizes, “read the question CAREFULLLY” I cannot emphasize the importance of it. Read it twice before answering.

Good luck to you as well Barrettky!

I would reschedule my exam, but the issue is that I will be moving in the following weeks and will not be able to focus as much time on studying.

I think at the pace I'm studying, I should be able to finish all MCQs and Sims with 2-3 days left before my exam. Hopefully that gives me enough time to go through the final review at least once. I want to be completely finished before the end of this next testing window if possible, and I still have REG.

I have said this before…The difference between Becker and the actual exam is this: Becker questions are written to be tricky. They use double negatives and they to trip you even before you get to the answers. Once you figure out the question, the answer is pretty obvious, or a choice of two. The questions in the actual exam are more straightforward. However, the correct answer is more difficult to choose from the four. I am a fan of the final review for Becker. Get it if you can. It will take you about 5 days.

    Good luck!!

Your study strategy is risky..the lectures are crucial to learning the material.
