Just took my first practice exam. Several of my sims were strictly definitions-based or here is an excerpt and you answer the accurate report or opinion. Is this realistic for AUD? Or is Wiley really toying with me right now?

do all the sims in the software. nobody knows what will be on the exam. Maybe what you got will happen to some people

The AICPA practice test will be much more representative of what you will see on the exam. Expect to have to navigate through several documents.

I took it last week. Of course I can't tell you what the sims were on the exam. I will just say they are challenging and fairly subjective. You'll probably have a lot of choices where you won't be sure if the answer is this or this and you just need to make your best guess. Don't expect anything simple and straight forward other than the research question.

I take AUD next Monday. Did SIMS from your CPA course help or is the AICPA ones better? I am using WileyCPA and the MCQs are challenging.

Gleim sims are pretty good. They are helpful. That said, the types of questions on my exam sims were very specific details (minutia) and MCQ's can teach you this information.

Ok I am using Wiley and some of the DRS just feel like overkill. But, maybe that's how it is. I plan to do the AICPA practice exam closer to exam day and do MCQs fast enough to use the AL more than I did for FAR

I don't know if the TBS in Wiley are overkill, but I know they didn't prepare me for FAR. Some of TBS for AUD are long and time consuming. I think it's worse because of how Wiley's software functions and I have a small screen to practice on. The AICPA practice exams were helpful for FAR.

I agree with @Tim completely. I took AUD in March, and the SIMS were extremely subjective and I found it hard to decipher what some of them were even asking. However, in the two weeks before my exam I did go through EVERY single Becker SIM again as well as the AICPA practice exam. Something I did worked so I would definitely recommend doing that.
