What I want to know is, can you research basically all sims? I was recently told that the research questions are not the only ones where you can benefit off the research tabs (I’m probably going to get flamed for that).

I want to know if you can use research on all sims or not. Thank you

Yes. As far as I remember, you can use the authoritative literature for all the sims, not just FAR.

Access to the authoritative literature is there for all sims, BUT, you will probably not find each question and figure out how to get the answer based on the literature. It is definitely great to be able to use and see if something you aren't sure on can be found, but you can't rely totally on the lit for the sims. You need to practice and be ready for the sims.

It seems like the big thing for the FAR sims is the journal entries. Know them.

It won't help you put together JE either … I didn't have one sim on FAR besides the research sim that would have made more sense by using the AL.
I did use the AL for some AUD sims, though.

@Vanessa, they give you the AL tab so you can research. The AL won't give you the answer most times, it will tell you the principle then you can apply it to the problem.

I found the AL to be extremely helpful. Although my preparation never included an assumption that it would help me pass, I believe it did help me pass. The AL will tell you the rules but you still need to know how to put it together.

Not every question can be answered by utilizing the AL. You should just know it is there and if you have time at the end, see if it can help.
