Anybody else out there chomping at the bit to retake an exam (especially your last) and waiting for CA to be done dragging their feet with you application? I see less and less July spots available each day and basically checking my status by the hour for my application to be approved, needless to say I am going insane lol.

It took me about 2 weeks to get an NTS to schedule my FAR retake so it wasn't that bad.

    BEC - 75 (3x)
    AUD - 78 (3x)
    REG - 67, 66, Aug 1
    FAR - 54, Sept 8

NTSs are pretty cheap in California, right? And they last for a year?

My NTS is in review because in my state if you pass your ‘within 200 days of graduating’ grace period for having all the required courses, then you need to send final transcripts and your application is reviewed again. Luckily I emailed and asked after waiting 5 days or I would have had no idea I needed to submit my transcript again after graduation. :-/

It's $25 for reapplying and lasts 9 months.

Here it's $75 for reapplying and the initial application is $150. And the NTS only lasts 6 months.

NASBA/Prometric/AICPA are really raking it in.

Yeah that has been about the norm for my “reapplications” – about 2 weeks. The first time I applied, I think it took 3 months lol. It is just driving me nuts because I am seeing test days and times that I want, slip away as each goes by. I should just stop looking until I get my NTS, then just see what hand I'm dealt. Can't control it.

Agreed on the going crazy comments.

I sent in transcripts and application. Status says application received, but waiting for transcripts to be approved. I've been studying almost a month for FAR and am dying to know when I can actually schedule an exam.

Just checked around noon today and I got an update on my status that the board received it. Sent mine last Thursday. Now I just need to wait until I can select the exams again.

    CPA2BEE,

CA Board of Accountancy's FAQ does explain the process including the mandatory 60 day status update. Mine took almost exactly 60 days iirc.

The whole process only took 10 days in my case.

@calvinus it definitely does not take 60 days for re-applications. The first time, it took about that long. But after that it goes much quicker.
