I needed 19 credits specifically towards the 33 hour accounting requirement, and wanted to get them done back-to-back (I've been out of school for nearly ten years so I did them mostly one at a time), but online courses were accepted by the following for NY State for me:
1) LSU online – popular choice for many people, only issue might be that there is a minimum of 8 weeks no matter how quickly you want to finish the course. However, they do offer a variety of accounting courses at lower/upper levels, so if they're not duplicates you can rack them up with LSU.
2)Bryant Stratton – I think the courses were 7 weeks. I used it because I needed courses that weren't duplicates so I took Accounting – Financial Analysis, Payroll Tax Accounting, and Individual Taxation (lower-level), and they all counted.
3) Capella – It was the only online college which offered Auditing (external Audit) within the time I needed it to fulfill the credits without losing time (LSU also has Auditing, but Capella's is 4 semester credits as opposed to 3, which made all the difference because that extra credit hour is what gave me exactly 33 accounting hours and exactly 150 overall hours).
I kind of blew the whistle on Wiley as I took Financial Acct. II with CPA Excel or whatever, and NY State rejected the course so I let Wiley know. They seemed shocked that NY rejected them and copied me on a letter they sent to NY accountancy board about the legitimacy of their courses but I doubt it will ever change anything. Also makes sense, as it is/was a shortcut to obtain credits (you could blow through the courses very quickly if needed).
Hope this helps, best of luck
