Another SIMS grading question

If a SIM has multiple fields for one answer, do you get partial credit for answering some of it correctly?

For example, a journal entry which requires selecting the correct text entry as well as inputting a correct numerical entry under Debit/Credit.

If I choose the correct text entry, lets say Sales, but then I input the wrong number under Debit/Credit, is that entire question wrong or is that one wrong answer + one right answer?

Roger docs the whole question as wrong and I’m confused.

So they recently just changed this actually in terms of how they grade the simulations that have multiple answers that relate to one another. It used to be graded where if you selected an answer in one box that relates to another box and only one of those two was correct, they would give you credit for one of those two.

Now the new way they grade the exam is that if you get one of the two selections correct and one wrong, the whole thing is marked incorrect now. Despite this change, average scores on the exam have actually gone up slightly. ( I would have expected the opposite to happen but I guess that is good news for us!)

Hope this helps! – I learned this from a Becker lecture so I am pretty confident it is true.

    Good Luck!

That does clarify things, thanks Typical. Although I don't see how it helps us haha. My SIMs scores using the old scoring is significantly higher than with this new scoring.
