I am new to the forum and I would appreciate it if someone could provide some advice.
I found out today I failed AUD (2nd attempt), which I took in early November. My first attempt was in July.

I took REG and passed in September on my first attempt.

My original plan prior to today’s score release was to take FAR and BEC during Q12017 in an attempt to be done before the exam changes in Q22017 but I believe now that this plan is no longer possible.

What do you guys recommend I do next? Should I take FAR and BEC in Q12017 and take AUD after the exam changes or would that be too aggressive considering I work full time and married with two kids? Conversely, should I give myself more time and focus on taking only one exam during that window? If so, should I take FAR next since that would really be the foundation for both BEC and AUD?

I am using Becker for review material. Perhaps, I should also look at other review material for supplement.

I would honestly recommend sticking with AUD because the material is fresh in your head, if you feel you need to do a lot of relearning/studying then just focus on audit, and try to complete most of MCQs in the areas you suffered in while also refreshing yourself with the material you did well on. If you feel just a little studying is needed then I'd polish up those audit skills and study for FAR or BEC concurrently. If you have ample study time I'd go with FAR in Feb, or BEC in you feel squeezed.

I know you're not exactly asking but I found the most difficult part of AUD was understanding the flow of the internal controls, managements assertions and how they relate the audit objectives/procedures. I think at first glance, its easy to mistake one answer as being correct as they often ask what is the most effective, or best answer, so really going step by step by step is really important through the different asserts and their relating audit procedures is really important, understanding the sequence, and asking yourself why this is the most effective/efficient way of obtaining desired results. For example, I had trouble with understanding IC but once I broke it down step by step, it became clearer how each step a platform for assessing the next step.

What do you think was the toughest part for you?

I appreciate your feedback. Although I have yet to receive the score report I believe my weak areas are in internal control and transaction cycles. Should I purchase NINJA MQS for AUD to hopefully get me over the top?

Part of me wants to move on from AUD for the time being because failing a third time would be a huge letdown so that is why I am contemplating whether to study for FAR/BEC instead.

Ninja MCQ's are definitely helpful and provide some more variety, the questions themselves are quite similar to roger so I can't say whether or not it'd be that helpful for you. But it did expose me to some more potential wording of questions. I/C was definitely my weakest spot too, and I found going through each step and asking myself what the goals were, why they needed this information, and how they could get it helped imprint the flow in my head. Because I thought it was easy to get lost in the trees but working from the birds eye view down to the forest critters view was an insightful process.

thats reasonable. I think if you really study and own the material you'll be fine but if you prefer to hit BEC/FAR that might help you get through this slump. Keep in my FAR is a TON of material though. Takes longer to study and review.

Congrats on passing your REG in your first attempt! That's outstanding.

There are still 15 days left in this testing window. Can you cram for BEC and take the test on 12/10? There are many overlapping topics among REG-AUD-BEC sections. You'll likely pass BEC since REG and AUD are very fresh in your head.
