Adequate Study Time

I have my FAR retake in 3 weeks. If I fail I lose BEC and AUD!!!! So I am either totally done, or back to only 25%.

I failed on an initial take on 11/30 and like a brilliant person have not studied since then and started again today.

My plan is to do roughly 2.5-3 hours of studying each day between now and the retake which will give me about 55 hours of study time. Does that sound doable? Or should I push my retake to the end of February giving me more time to study? My only worry about pushing it further out is that the further I push it, the further into busy tax season I go.

Thoughts? My first take I scored a 71.

Everyone says study for a retake like it's a first take. Especially since it's been 2 months since you first took it, that's probably very sound advice. Can you study any more on the weekends? I know studying more during tax season is rough, so understand if you can't, just asking.

Given how much is riding on this retake, I'd suggest more than 55 hours of restudying, especially if that's less than your initial study time (which I presume it is since most people study more than that for FAR).

If it were me, I'd push it to as late in February as possible, since it's your last shot before losing credit for 2 exams. I would say your plan could work, since you were only 4 points away, but you're going to have to stick to it even with a busier work schedule. I know I'd burn out studying 3 hours a day, especially after working 10-12 hr days.

    BEC - 88 8/29/15
    REG - 82 11/14/15
    AUD - 83 1/8/16
    FAR - 80 2/29/16

If your scores don't expire until the end of the window (check with your state) move it to the last day possible, take any time off work you can, and study from sunup until sundown on the weekend. I wouldn't risk TWO passed exams on 55 hours study time for FAR of all exams.
