    I feel so defeated.

I got 74 in my first try using only Roger.

Then, I got 61 in my second try using only Roger.

Today I found out I got 74 AGAIN, with Ninja MCQ. I am very grateful for Ninja MCQ as I felt Roger’s MCQs were too simple.

Now that I didn’t pass REG, my FAR expired. And I am waiting to find out my BEC score. The thought of taking REG and FAR AGAIN is giving me so much grief and I am feeling soooooooooooo defeated. I studied through busy season and took some breaks, I am burnt out. I thought I was done and wanted to get my life back. I can’t believe I got 74 again!! If you have any positivity or motivation to share, please do because I feel like giving up.

@Elaine -You are not alone! I got 74 in a row for REG. Recently I got 70 and my AUD expired. It will be my 7th stab for REG coming July 5th. The good news is, we are not the first one who failed multiple times. The bad news is, I felt like I'm getting use to fail and just giving out every hard-earned penny to NASBA. We can do this. See you in Q3 REG group.

    AUD - 79 (expired) retaking July 28,2016
    FAR - 76 expiring July 31, 2016
    BEC - 85
    REG - 74,74,74,74,59,70,

@Elaine – I understand how you feel. I received a 73 on AUD this morning (my 15th total test taken). I have passed REG and FAR (have credit for both) but have also had BEC credit expire.. so I understand what you're going through. I posted a thread on here early this morning called “When to hang up the gloves” because I was seriously considering doing that when I saw that 73 this morning. However, if you read through that thread you can see that a lot of people are here rooting you on and wanting to see you succeed.

So my advice is to keep studying and don't give up… we all know you can pass!

There was a great video on you tube by a woman who took the exam so many times – can't remember exactly – it was a lot. Just tried to find it and I can't bummer. I love Roger for lectures (most of the time) – who wouldn't, but I frankly I don't think anybody's lectures have prepared me all that well for anything. They are most useful for review after I've done a lot of MCQ's. A lot of this IMO is learning how the AICPA method for testing the concepts, as much as the concepts themselves. That's why teachers's are always complaining they have to “teach to the test” to enable kids to pass standardized tests.

One thing that helps me in that regard is going over not only the right answer, but every wrong answer explanation. Gleim is great at providing an explanation for those wrong answers.

Eventually, when you look at an MCQ should be able to identify why the other choices are wrong. This can be an amazing help in raising your odds of picking a right answer.

I feel for you, hope that helps. And God Bless anyone on here who studies for this thing during tax season. I really don't know how you do it.

Hi Elaine, I am sorry to hear that you failed your REG test, and lost your FAR score. =(

The good thing is that you learned that the Ninja MCQs helps you more than the Roger MCQs.

I read that many people recommend that you do 3,000 to 5,000 Ninja MCQs in order to pass each test.

Now that you know that the Ninja MCQs are more helpful, I think you will pass all the rest of your exams with flying colors if you do 3,000 to 5,000 MCQs.
(I am sure that doing 3,000 to 5,000 MCQs is harder than it sounds.)

Please take a break, relax, and revitalize yourself.

Since you have taken REG and FAR already, with the addition of the Ninja MCQs, you should be able to pass these 2 tests with ease the next time around.

Stay Positive! – Your next retakes will be a piece of cake! – You got this! – You can conquer these tests!

    FAR: (05/24/16) | (07/15/16) | (10/22/16)
    AUD: (09/07/16) | (11/29/16) |
    BEC: TBD
    REG: TBD

Thank you guys for your motivating worda… @KNCPA, you sound like a trooper. I cannot fathom the disappointment you would've felt upon seeing that score, but we should just keep moving forward. I'm beginning to build this resistance and hatred towards AICPA and this is turning into a battle against the institution!! Let's make it our bitch. Let's make some lemonade.

    @CPA2021
, man, I agree that my confidence during the test trembles when I get confused by the question itself – how it twists sentences and make you confused even before starting to solve the problem. Thank you!
@johnm857, please slay the test brutally and heartlessly, we will be rooting for you.

I am studying for REG now using Roger. I've read from a couple people on this site that after taking REG they felt like his material left some parts out and they ended up not being as prepared as they thought they were when walking in. This makes me really nervous about my exam in June. I'm moving ahead with Roger but I am also adding the Ninja notes and MCQ. I'm hoping the Ninja material can fill in anything Roger may be missing.

Maybe switching to a different test and coming back to REG would help reset your brain? I need to redo AUD after I take REG and I'm planning on attacking it as if I haven't looked at the material before.
