I wish there was someone at the NASBA who looked at my AUD score and thought “Oh shit, this guy scored a 74 on his 4th try. His life is probably already shit since he’s studying for the CPA exam. I’ll just change this to a 68 so he doesn’t decide to step in front of a NJ Transit bus when he sees this.”

Also, what the F**K is the point of having a score appeal process if it never has and never will result in a score change?

Yean man, keep it up. You'll get in eventually. It sucks that these tests are “curved” to keep the passing rates low. It such a cash cow for them and fckn confidence killer to us. Take a few breathes. Hell, take a few days off. Go back at it again. Also, use cpareviewforfree.com. I used this to pass my audit exam that I kept getting 74s on. They ask the questions in different ways than Becker. Whatever you do, don't give up. Keep pressing.

I got a 74 on AUD first time. I swear they curve these exams. My theory is instead of 75 as the passing score, they drop anyone within a range (say 75-80 or similar, depending on the curve) to a 74. *That is my theory so don't take it as fact!*

I am sure it's curved though and the state only allows so many people to pass to avoid flooding the market!

@Eric – It is true man. Its nuts. Someone that sits on the board told me. She said to pass with a 75, you have to get a raw score of at least 80. It sucks so much a** and should be illegal. They keep doing this to people and taking our money.

The only time I've cried yet from a score release was receiving a 74 on my 2nd REG attempt which made me lose credit for AUD.

I was convinced that nasba must be playing games with me…. like they want only my money and they know I'll keep dishing it out because I want this too badly.

    AUD - 64, 75 - credit lost, 90!!
    REG - 73, 74, 83
    FAR - 61, 72, 85

Feels good finishing on my best note. Time to watch the mailbox.

I have a 1 hour commute from NJ to NY which became a 2 hour commute today due to a broken down NJ Transit bus. I usually wait to check my score in the office so i am less likely to make a scene if I fail but with this morning's bullshit commute and receiving a 74 on my 4th AUD attempt (and numerous other personal life shit, some specifically due to this whole CPA adventure) I couldn't help but moderately yell several versions of the “f-word” and slam the door on my way out to take a “cool-down walk.”

Now I'm just resuming my prep for REG 🙂 …..(angry sigh)

I am so sorry 🙁 I have failed audit 3 or 4 times now. I can't even remember – I am blocking it out XD

I got really angry last time cause I worked my butt off studying, and scored worse than the time before. I guess all we can do is keep trying.

For me the anger takes over for the initial hour or so after having that 74 punch me in the face but the disappointment/depression is what burns a hole in me until the next score release.

I'm just typing my feelings to vent. Feel free to scroll past the “Tony” posts.

@tony, @everybody, just received the breakdown score of stronger, weaker and comparable. What a joke that is it doesn't help me at ALL!!! No kidding I was weak in one area that is apparently why I failed but it doesn't tell me how weak was I. Did I get 1 question out of 10 right or 7 out of 10 and everybody else got 8 out of 10 and that is why I was weaker!!!!
