I wish there was someone at the NASBA who looked at my AUD score and thought “Oh shit, this guy scored a 74 on his 4th try. His life is probably already shit since he’s studying for the CPA exam. I’ll just change this to a 68 so he doesn’t decide to step in front of a NJ Transit bus when he sees this.”

Also, what the F**K is the point of having a score appeal process if it never has and never will result in a score change?

I appreciate your rant, srs. I agree with your points as well. I pulled a 74 on FAR and I have gotten 73 or 74 5 times now. It doesn't make sense to have an appeal process. I do believe the CPA test isn't a fair test at all and is slanted on towards keep the passing rates low.

@Crunchtime – I agree. I'm probably just speaking out of frustration and anger but I think they make the scoring process vague enough so that they can control the passing rate.

I'm not saying it's a conspiracy like how the 49ers got dicked out of a super bowl championship in 2013 but there are definitely a few questionable shit methods when it comes to format, scoring, and score release timeline.

These exams are doable and you will pass (eventually). Are you studying all the different types of reports (unqualified, qualified, review, compilation, etc). I would go through your text and write down all the reports, practice writing them about 10x until your hand is sore and then dive into multiple questions and try to crank those out. With audit, as you probably know word play is huge and one word can totally change the answer. Good luck and keep at it.

@rbcpa that is one of my points that if you study enough you will eventually pass, you will just get a favorable test. Which means if you are on the fringe you will fail some of the times and pass some of the times.

That's pretty much what happened to me on AUD. I felt much more prepared than the previous attempts and the MCQ became harder in each testlet. The the SIMS took a shit on my life. On the SIMS, not one of them was found in the authoritative literature (except the research question) and I know i did terrible on them. On previous attempts I was able to use the AL for most questions and my score report would say similar or stronger performance. Basically I was unlucky which sucks and is very difficult to accept.

I just got a 74 on FAR after 3.5 months of studying. I would rather have gotten a 70 because 74 just seems cruel to give someone. So angry and so pissed its unreal….

They should give the recipient the option to receive their non-passing score in a range.

I would have much rather seen “70-74” for my non-passing audit score

I got a 74 on audit. We share the same sentiments. I'd much rather have seen a 64 than a ******************** 74! Did 70 really use to be passing?

It's kinda like how one may feel if you hooked up, and the next morning you found they left $5 on the nightstand. You wouldn't be as pissed off that they left money in the first place, it's that they left $5. lol…WTH?!?!?! It's not so much that I failed, as what I failed with…Or like spending 3.5hrs watching a movie, and thinking at the end…I don't get it…did they die OR NOT.

Okay, I'm done….sorry to jack your rant thread…but I can honestly say, I feel your pain.

Agreed man I've been there and it's in my opinion the worst possible score. Knowing you were so close… definitely a tough pill to swallow. All I can say is keep your head up and keep at it. It'll happen
