Jumping back into Audit Oct 10th for Nov 14th retake (5-ish weeks to re-study).

While I did a decent amount of MCQ for prep using Becker, I don’t think I did nearly enough as I’m realizing how important they are for a concept heavy exam like AUD (quality+quantity, not just quantity). I feel like buying NINJA MCQ to help supplement would be key to getting over the 75+ hump. I’m so close!!! (although not 74-close..glad I didn’t score that 🙂 )

Prior study habit was a mix of hundreds of flashcards, notes, lectures, and a decent amount of MCQ. Tons of MCQ = key?!?

I want to own AUD this time around…. thoughts?

The key to AUD is understanding the concepts and the thought processes behind them. Becker teaches AUD like the key is to memorize, but AUD moreso than the other exams, memory is secondary; understanding is key.

So, whatever will help you understand the best is the key.

MCQs helped tie everything together to some extent, but really focus on your thought processes with AUD, during MCQs and during all other study. Try to think “how would an auditor think in this situation”. If you can learn how to think like an auditor, you can pass AUD with a 90+ score after the same amount of effort that would otherwise get a 74-76 score. Not that a 90+ is necessary (I'm all about those 75-80's lol), but just saying that understanding the thought process can easily make a different of 15-20 points.

Do fresh questions that you've never seen before. You should totally get Ninja notes and MCQs.

For AUD more than any other exam, you need to explain to yourself why the answer choice is right and why the others are not right. It also helps to really understand the nuances between the terminology used and what is included in different reports, especially SSAE and SSARS.

Study every retake like it is your first time and when you feel like you have done enough, do more.

For me, the difference between my 71 on AUD (second attempt) and 84 (third attempt) was copying the ninja notes word for word three times over. Its fairly well documented that rewriting notes (even someone else's) helps memory retention

I am finding these replies helpful as well. Im taking AUD for the first time Oct 1. I have the Wiley focus notes; would you recommend re-writing those? Im not sure if they are similar or not. Im doing like skibum1990 right now and drilling MCQs.
