2018 CA Application Timeline

    Hi Everyone,
    I have seen similar posts like this one before, but I am looking for 2018 updates on the timeline for starting the uniform application to being able to actually schedule a test. I am a first-time applicant and I hope to take REG in August if that is possible.

    Here is my current timeline:
    Application Date – 6/19/18
    Sent in transcripts and $100 check to board- 6/19/18
    Remittance Received by board- 6/27/18
    Board Cashed Check 7/2/18
    Completed step 4- 7/3/18

    When should I be expecting the remainder of the steps?
    What are these remaining steps and how long until I should receive my NTS?

    Per my records, I applied on 2/1/16 and received my NTS on 4/12/16. And I think CBA has gotten faster now (i.e. two weeks on repeat applications).

    first time too. they received my form on 6/12.
    I'm also hoping to take reg before september.

    Hi! I'm a CA applicant as well, and I submitted my application on 4/28 and passed Step 4 on 5/11. I had to wait until 5/18 (my college graduation date) to submit my transcript so that it would show that I had a Bachelors degree. I emailed them in late May/early June to see if they had received my transcript and I was told they were still going through April applicants.
    I finally received the email yesterday (7/3) that my application was approved and that I can select my exam on the portal.

    @advnam By the time they received your transcript in mid/late may it took about 6 weeks ish to get your approval?

    @calvinus it took them a full 10 weeks to receive your NTS? Isn't that a relatively long time? I was under the impression it was about 8 weeks in total to receive your NTS???

    Simone,

    Based on the responses in this thread, it wouldn't surprise me if they had a mandatory waiting period (i.e. 60 days), which makes sense because it wouldn't be practical to continually review and update applications piecemeal. But again, I had noticed they had gotten faster with retake NTS's lately, so hope for the best.

    Still, you should be able to take the exam before the end of the current window.

    @calvinus it is cutting it close because 60 days after my 6-19-18 date is August 18 and I would still need to get my NTS from the NASBA. I am not sure how long that takes, but I would only have about 3 weeks to sit and take REG before the blackout period.

    You do have until September 10th, and the exam payment/scheduling only takes a couple of days, so you should be fine imo.
