TommyTheCatParticipantchoco you need to get a better grasp on reading comprehension. “Banking on luck” and “luck having nothing to do with it” are two entirely different statements. Sure one can get lucky and get a test that heavily covers the limited areas they studied in our their strengths….but as i said several times BANKING on luck….ie counting on luck to get you by, is a losing proposition.
How do you not understand the difference between my two statements? I never said there is zero luck in the exams, in fact I said quite the opposite in my past posts. My point was you should do what you can to take luck out of the equation. If I study my ass off and dont have any weak areas, I am not concerned with “lucking” into a certain test that only covers a few areas.
Do you understand? And thanks for citing the dates and times of my statements.

WannafreeParticipant@Iamstrong “kick FAR – FAR FAR Away” liked the rhyme .I am on the same boat and doing all sorts of thing to add 1 points here 2 points there.Just curious did you fill all fields of SIM Net income one?
I was unlucky ,that was the last question and I couldn't even fill one field.Just trying a sort of survey who had time to solve that long question at the end.September 30, 2017 at 12:21 pm #1640998
iamstrongParticipantHey WannaFree
I'm still in the NINJA MCQ mode but when I went through the SIMS the first time around some were pretty tough. I was like- huh?
I'm planning to retest early November.
I think the more familiar we are with the types of questions we will be in good shape.
I worry i've memorized things but there are some questions where there is only one example of the concept.

WannafreeParticipant@IamStrong , What I have learned with multiple failures , complete all SIMs in exam.

shawn in VAParticipantKdawg-
I do not come on here and complain. I “speak” my mind and and will say when things are fair and unfair.

shawn in VAParticipantI will stand behind my statements of luck DEFINITELY has to do with the exams. The “version” of the exam you get can be completely different from another test taker on another day or same day. I have taken BEC sadly 3 times (74,74,81) and let me tell you the 1st two times I had WC topics that were NOT even related to BEC (more like FAR and AUD). How is that fair?
My third take of BEC where I passed I got all WC that actually had to do with BEC. I got SIMS that were challenging but fair and ALL had to do with BEC. I left the test center saying that was actually a fair exam and IF I fail I have no one to blame but myself.
Same thing with AUD where I sadly got a 74 a couple weeks back. Everyone kept complaining on here about “nightmare” SIMS, well let me tell you I got 1 nightmare SIM, and got lucky with 2 research questions. Rest were reasonable.
During my studies in the 3 parts I have studied for there has been 1 to 3 topics in each section where I just don't understand the material and just move on due to time constraints. I am taking a “gamble” and just hope those topics don't show up on the exam. I have been lucky and they have not, and at times I have been unlucky and they have.
Not really sure how I can get more clear than this. I have even cited examples in real life. I call luck on these exams to a certain degree, and in conjunction with studying thoroughly = 75 or more passing

That fine we can agree to disagree. Sorry but I got a huge kick out of “moved on from 2 or 3 sections I didn't understand”. I have no sympathy for your failed attempts lol.

Choco415ParticipantTommy – did anyone in the thread say they were banking on passing the exam by only studying 50% of the materials? Who ARE these people?
I had to take FAR cold because my NTS was expiring. I took the exam knowing I was going to fail, but hoping to at least get an exam experience out of my $200.
The reality is most people taking this exam have full time jobs and other commitments (family). People come in to the exam without studying everything due to time constraints, not because they are hoping they only get tested on the materials they studied.
Shawn asked why Q4 has had the lowest pass rate over the years, and then people come out and start hating on him – it’s 100% your own fault you can’t pass, and you can’t study 50% of the materials and bank on
passing.I have sympathy for everyone taking this exam.

BourneParticipantWhy has this thread been going on for so long with people arguing about luck? Just study for the damn test and and put the work in and everything will fall into place.
September 30, 2017 at 7:42 pm #1641194
Choco415Participant@Bourne there’s a perception shared by many on this forum that the new exam is unfair because people have been reporting drastically different experiences. Some have reported no difference between the old and new format. Others have experienced the nightmare SIM situation, with up to 8 SIMs that have 15-25 entries and 5-6 supporting documents each.
The argument some have made is that the examiners have somehow adjusted for these differences through the power of “statistics.”
I believe their algorithm is messed up, resulting in drastically different (and unfair) test experiences.

TommyTheCatParticipantha complaining about fairness, get real.
September 30, 2017 at 8:38 pm #1641202
Choco415ParticipantBut isn't that what this is all about – fairness? Albeit, of financial statements, but fairness nonetheless…
