    The AICPA has finalized the 2017 CPA Exam changes. More task-based simulations and less MCQs. Even more motivation to complete this beast this year!!!

    I just saw this. Must complete the exams this year!!!

    FAR - 75 (2/25/16)
    AUD - 80 (4/8/16)
    REG - 80 (6/10/16)
    BEC - 79 (7/19/16)

    You only get one shot with the spirit bomb.

    “Candidates won’t have to wait long to learn how they performed, as exam scores will continue to be released within 20 days, except during the first few testing windows. During the first testing window after the launch of the exam, it will take approximately 10 weeks to report scores as experts will have to analyze candidates’ performance and set the passing standards for each section of the exam. In the next two windows, there may be a delay of 10 days to allow for further evaluation of exam data. After that, exam officials expect that the 20-day rolling window for exam results will be observed.”

    10 weeks…yikes.

    Does anyone have a link or any insight into the Document Review Simulation (DRS) that will be on the exams starting this July? I plan on having only AUD left, but saw that DRS would be included on it.

    @Pony Boy, the AICPA includes the Document Review Simulations on the practice exams. You can get a feel of what the simulations will entail.

    Not that my opinion matters, but this is a mistake. For hundreds of years apprenticeships have been based on mastering basic skills. Just because the computer does it doesn't mean you don't need to understand the mechanics of it. And it takes years of doing mechanics to really get a grasp of accounting IMO.
