2017 Exam Change in Quarter 1?

    I was told by Yaeger that the CPA exam will be changing Q1 of 2017. I am reading everywhere Q2. Anyone know for sure? I am set to finish all 4 parts by Q1 2017.

    I've also heard Q2 in most places, but Jeff also says Q1. Hope someone will clarify!

    The powers that be reached out to me to share this:

    “We are telling candidates who ask that final transition guidance will be announced when we announce the next version of the Exam, which is currently expected in the second quarter of 2016. The next version of the Exam will be implemented one year following its announcement.

    I know folks are anxious about what's happening. We get a lot of questions about having to retake the exam with the new format, too. Our current best thinking is this: If a candidate has passed any sections under the current Exam format, they would not need to retake those Exam sections under the new format. However they will be required to take the new format of the Exam for the sections that they have not passed when the next Exam is implemented. Any final decisions about transition rules are the responsibility of the state boards of accountancy.”

    Hallelujah!! So the goal is to pass them before 2016, but if we have to retake one for whatever reason we take the old version if we've already passed it once? Am I reading that right?
