I take FAR on Wednesday and I have all day tomorrow and than the test at 330 wed to knock out a ton of mcq and practice some sims, havent even looked at sims yet.

One issue I am having with MCQ is that I know the right answer but I am missing the key part of the question so pick the wrong answer, even though I calculated all the parts right and would have the number to answer it correctly, like I am going to fast or something. My question is when you are reading MCQ’s, do you have ways to prevent your self from making those stupid mistakes, I keep doing it and I know its killing my trending score, currently at 55%

I feel like if I slow down on the MCQ and reading the question that I could hurt myself later in the test

also, can you go back and look at your answers before you submit each testlet so if I try to allocate 45 mins per MCQ testlet and finish the first one in 30 mins, can I go back and look at my responses to answers to make sure I didnt make any stupid mistakes or ones to complete an answer you cant go back?

    Thanks

What I learned is to go to the last sentence of the problem and read the main question. This helps me narrow down the facts presented in the problem and as I am reading it I am thinking through the calculations, as opposed to reading the whole problem, assuming what I need to calculate without paying attention to the actual question. A lot of times if we know the topic well we read the question and assume what we need to calculate just based on the variables presented in the problem. I've made this mistake many times.

We have all made mistakes while doing the MCQ, so don’t let it bring you down, learn from it! What helped me while reviewing, as well as on exam day, is to read the last question and determine what formula it is asking you to calculate. Write the formula down, then start working the question. Do this during your review, as well as during the exam, in order to narrow your focus on what you need to answer. Plus it helps you to memorize the formulas by repeatedly writing the formulas during your review.
