To all,
I just received the news on the 19th that I finally passed my last section (FAR) with a 76. I cannot believe I am typing this, but I am done!I will try to keep this short, but this board has helped me throughout the process and I feel I should provide a little bit about my experience and maybe it will help someone.
Advice: You have heard it before…If I can do it, anyone can. This is very true in my scenario. I was a terrible college student and even left accounting for 2 years before returning. If you want it bad enough, you will make it happen. Make it your #1 priority in life. Live it, breath it, dream about it. Let it consume you.
FAR 24 pt jump Did you bomb your last exam, you are retaking it and wondering if you can make a huge leap to a 75? The answer is YES. FAR was my last section and I took the exam in Aug. 2017. I received a 52 and was shocked, stunned, and confidence shattered. I still had three chances to pass it before REG fell off, but it was my biggest fear. Here is how I made a 24 point jump in the very next testing window to a 76.
1.) I read the entire FAR book from Roger CPA after watching the videos. I cannot express how important it is to actually read the book. This is the most important part of studying in my book.
2.) Punish yourself with the sections you do not know. It was a struggle the entire time. You are trying to answer nothing but questions you struggle on. Confidence killer and frustrating, but it will help you learn!
3) Specifically for FAR. Make sure you have 2-3 weeks for review. The last week, hammer the MCQ’s until you are sick. This I believe is extremely important right before your test.Thank you Thank you. All of you. Some of your posts have helped me tremendously.
We are all in different situations in life and on the exam. Finding someone similar to you and reading their post is like therapy. This has been quite the journey for me. Approximately 2 years and 13 tests between the 4 exams. A determined human can do some scary things. Be determined and believe in yourself. God bless and good luck!
