You've highlighted? Have you done multiple choice questions? Practice sims?

Reading and highlighting isn't going to help us help you if you haven't applied reading to problems to diagnose weaknesses.

    Not the best circumstances, but…
    1) know the unmodified report
    2) know the variations (emphasis of matter, other matter) where they go, when they are used
    3) SSARS
    4) The assertions (COVERU)

Good luck … I am assuming that you cannot reschedule now, right?

Unfortunately no, all of the times for the rest of the month are booked and march is a black out month

I am on the same boat (taking aud tomorrow)

Not that I know much but make sure to know the difference between audit/review/compilation

    audit: reasonable assurance/independence
    review: no opinion, limited assurance/independence
compilation: no opinion, no assurance/no independence required

Probably make sure to read engagement letter, at least unmodified opinion couple times to understand the things in there.

Good luck with your audit test!

    Study time: 4 (Feb) + 2 (May) + 3 (July) = 9 weeks total

I also think internal control is important. remember ARC: Authorization, record keeping, custody should not be done by one person. Also remember internal control for audit of public companies and governmental auditing.

remember that for a compilation engagement the auditor is not required to make inquiries or perform analytical procedures but for a review they can, and also for a review independence is required, and a review engagement requires limited assurance

also that Trace starts from source docs to financials
Vouch starts from financials and makes its way to source docs

Au-c200 gives a good overview of audit. It is the baseline standard for nonissuers and an easy read. The other standards are on this page too. Take a few minutes to read their titles and descriptions. Big ones are subsequent events, modified opinions. Skim 560 for those.
You also have to understand the differences between reviews and compilations. The links to those are here.
    https://www.aicpa.org/research/standards/auditattest/pages/clarifiedsas.aspx

Do a search at top of page for assertions lots of helpful posts for those.

Review professionalism. Everything you will hit in a review is based on these standards. Not a lot of time so good luck.

have you narrowed down your weak areas? I would do a quick scan of your weak areas. Would you be able to push the exam to April?

You may want to know the difference between the different engagements, compilation, preparations, reviews, examinations, attest, assurance. Pro forma financial statemnts

Browse over sampling, browse over government audits. Know the reports and the opinions.

Browse the transaction cycles, internanal control components

    Definitely review quality control.

You definitely want to review independence and professional responsibilities

Know audit risk and responses to IC risk, know test of controls.

I would just skim over the IT stuff in internal control.

Internal control reports are important, so you might want to know those too.

Evidence is important, you definitely want to know what a substantive procedure is…oh yeah analytical procedures are important.

Don't forget about planning an audit, materiality, fraud and illegal acts, related party transactions, omitted procedures, when to use a specialist, using an internal auditor

Oh yeah I forgot about group audits, going concern, uncertainties and consistencies.

You get all of that and you should be good. Best of luck!

Vouch down from the journal/ledger to source docs to test for existence and it's useful for testing for over statements related to the revenue process.

Trace up from the source docs to journal/ledger to test for completeness and it's useful for testing for understatement a related to expenses.

Know ARC. Gotta keep em separated!

Emphasize the EMCCCS at the party. Acronym I made up for what is required for emphasis of matter paragraphs immediately following the opinion paragraph.

    E-emphasis
    M-matter
    C- concern (going)
    C- change in accounting principal
    C- change in opinion
    S- special purpose framework

TEVUECO ABREC PDCURV acronym for assertions related to Transactions, Account balances and Presentation. It's weird but I works for me. I just say it out. Tev-u-co; Ab-vrec; P-D-Curv

    T-transaction
    E- events
    V- Valuation
    U- unstandability and classification
    E- existence
    C- completeness
    O- cutOff

    A- Account
    B- Balance
    V- Valuation
    R- rights
    E- existence
    C- completeness

    P- presentation
    D- disclosure
    C- Completeness
    U- understandability and classification
    R- Rights and obligations
    V- valuation and allocation

Know the unmodified opinion. Know that Gaap is referred to in the opinion paragraph and Gaas is referred to in the scope paragraph. gaaP- oPinion. gaaS- Scope. Public companies audits are conducted in accordance with PCAOB rather than GAAP (nonpublic companies) in the management responsibilities paragraph.

Know that GAAP is disclosure and materially issues and GAAS is insufficient evidence and scope limitations.

Emphasis of matter and other matter paragraphs are not used in GAAS qualifications or disclaimers.

    Management paragraphs is never modified.

GAAP qualifications and adverse require adjustment to scope, basis for opinion paragraph preceding the opinion paragraph and the opinion paragraph. Qualified=except for. Adverse=because of

Disclaimer of opinion is the only issue that calls for modification of the intro paragraph.

If you can get those down you'll be ready for most reporting questions.

Know the review and compilation section. SSARS is tested a good bit.

Audit sampling!!!!!!! Know difference between attribute and variable$ ($ubstantive) testing. Focus in on relationship if sample size to the different steps of each. Know what they are used to test for.

That's all I got for ya. I'm taking the exam in the morning too and this was a good regurgitation of my notes!!! 🙂

This is my 4th time taking it so I feel comfortable. Getting ready to pack it up and get some TV/couch time in to relax the mind.

Good luck and I hope this helps!!!! Even my stupid mnemonics, but they work for me.
